This is the first in a series of 8 videos centered around cooking for the holidays. Leanne shows you just how easy it is to cook a nice turkey without drying it out.
Thank you so much for the video. This is a great method. I’ve been making our turkeys this way for the past several years (based on your helpful instructions), but I’ve been tenting with foil when I turn there temp in the oven down. Do you still recommend doing that?
What is your opinion/experience of using the turkey bags?
I have been cooking turkeys for holiday dinners for many years and like you have tried the various ways which different chefs have suggested. After watching your video on preparing and cooking a turkey, I can hardly wait to rush out and buy one to try your method .
You have simplified what is for many a very intimidating task. I want to show my daughter this video as I know she will feel much more comfortable cooking her “own bird!”. Until now, I have been the chief turkey chef, but I feel that things will now change. Thank you for helping women of ALL ages with this job.
This is so great, Leanne! What is the general rule of thumb for when you turn the oven down to 375 degrees (i.e. how long)?
Thanks Leanne! I found that to be a very helpful video. I’ll have to give it a try with the high temperature for a half hour and then turning it lower for the rest of the time and see how it goes. Thanks again!
Do you put water in the roaster after the 30 minutes?
